Kitchener Residence

Every plant in this landscape (2005) has to play an important role to provide year round interest and texture in a very small space. A Dawyck’s Purple Beech anchors the landscape and a Fragrant Snowball Viburnum is centre stage in the spring with its beautifully scented flowers and reddish purple fall colour.

Pots are filled with large tropical specimens in the summer months, and winter displays for year round interest.

The backyard was landscaped in 2006. Shade loving perennials and shrubs are planted underneath the deck, with a pathway that leads to a sunny perennial border. All gardens are outlined with steel edging to maintain a crisp edge. Tree frogs sometimes peek from inside the leaves of large banana trees planted on the raised deck.
